My dad just bought be a car from a private owner. It's registered in his name. When he went to the motor vehicle, he paid for the taxes and whatnot and got the title and plates. He also brought his own insurance card from his car to prove to them that he had car insurance. So I have the registration in the car but I haven't spoken to my insurance agent yet.
